Why The Tint Factory
I'm Ed, and The Tint Factory is just me. Every car, home and business is worked on personally, start to finish, so the standard never slips. 3,000+ cars tinted since 2018, and I don't cut corners: door cards come off (and sometimes the glass comes out) for a flawless finish, never the quick walkaround that bubbles and peels. Trained by LLumar, and kept current by 3M, Avery, Mactac & Hexis. Not sure what you need? Pop in for honest advice, no pressure.
Fully insured, though since 2018 I've never had to make a claim. I take every care and the record shows it; but I live in the real world, so if a job ever doesn't go to plan, you're fully covered and I'll put it right at no cost to you.

Car window tinting in Leicester
Straight answers on price, the law, the film and how long it takes. If yours is not here, the booking page shows your exact car's price in a few seconds.
Rear windows, from the B-pillar back, start from £110 on a 3 door hatchback with premium carbon film, and go up with the size of the car and the film you choose. That is for film fitted with the door cards off, by one specialist, and guaranteed for life. Put your reg into the booking page and it shows the exact price for your car before you commit. £60 books the slot and you can spread the rest with Klarna or PayPal Pay Later.
See your car's price →A customer told me recently that a mobile fitter came to his house and did the whole car, illegal fronts included, for £130. At that price the film is the cheap stuff that bubbles, peels and turns purple inside a couple of years, and you pay twice: once to strip it, again to have it done properly. I strip so many failed cheap tints that two of them are framed on my workshop wall. Every car I tint gets the door cards off, sometimes the glass out, and premium film fitted once, properly.
The front side windows must let at least 70% of light through and the windscreen at least 75%. There is no legal limit on the rear side windows or the rear screen, so 20% or even 5% on the back is fine. The number works backwards from how it sounds: it is the light passing through, so a lower number is darker. A 20% front is a long way past illegal.
Yes, with road-legal film. I fit ceramic fronts that keep the glass inside the 70% limit, and the windscreen can be done too. Both are bookable online as an add-on to any car. Illegal fronts are a roadside problem, not a paperwork one: between 70% and 34% is a traffic offence, and 33% or darker is treated as a dangerous condition, which can mean points on your licence and the car prohibited on the spot. It also gives your insurer a way out. The cheap mobile jobs are nearly always in that bracket.
Book ceramic fronts →From about 90 minutes for a 3 door hatchback to around 3 hours for a saloon, estate or large SUV, in the workshop at Queniborough. You are welcome to wait or drop the car and collect it. Leave the windows up for 3 to 5 days afterwards while the film cures. A slight haze in that time is normal and clears as the film bonds to the glass.
Carbon and ceramic are the film types, not how dark they are. Carbon comes in 20% or 5%, ceramic in 15% or 5%, the lower the number the darker the glass, and you pick your shade on the day with the film held against your own window. Carbon gives the deep factory look and blocks 99% of UV. Ceramic does all that and throws far more heat back off the glass, up to 60%. I keep a demo panel on the bench so you can feel the difference before you spend a penny extra. Dog owners are first to upgrade, then parents with little ones in the back.
Not mine. Every job is guaranteed for life in writing against bubbling, peeling, delaminating and fading. If it ever does any of those, I put it right at no cost to you. That guarantee is only possible because the film is premium and the fitting is not rushed.
Everything is booked online, car by car. Enter your reg, the site finds your exact model, shows the price and the slots that are actually free, including same-day slots when I have a gap. A £60 deposit holds the slot and the balance is paid on the day. If your car is not listed, text or ring me and I will price it.
Book online →Unit 3, Branstons Industrial Estate, Melton Road, Queniborough, Leicester LE7 3FP. Syston is five minutes away, Loughborough and Melton Mowbray about twenty. Cars come to the workshop, where the glass is clean, the light is right and the door cards can come off properly. That is the difference between a tint that lasts and one fitted on a driveway.
Find the workshop →Pop into the workshop, see the quality up close and get honest advice from the person who'll actually do the job, no pressure, no hard sell.
